Hop, skip & a jump

Hi all,

I am back today with a card for our new challenge over at Milkcoffee, this week our theme is

Back to School

Now my 2 angels!!! go back next Wed and I know it sounds horrible but I can't wait. Don't get me wrong I love having them around but I can't seem to keep in a routine whilst they are around me on hols and I don't seem to get anything done. Plus they squabble so much more when they are around each other for longer periods lol!!. Anyway I tell you, I took them uniform shopping yesterday and well nearly fell over at the till in Clarks £75 for 2 pairs of school shoes, although I have to admit they are good quailty and do last them ages. However whilst they were choosing them Oli went I'll have these (bit trainerish type), they will be alright for when I am playing footie at lunchtime as well!!!! at that price I don't bloomin think so he will sooooo be taking a pair of trainers with him lol.

Anyway - best show you my card, I have chosen to use this fabby image called Rope Skipping Girl. I just loved skipping when I was young, such a fun thing to do although if I tried it now I would probably get black eyes lol!!. Abbie takes a skipping rope with her to school most days, so thought this card would be perfect for her to wish her luck on her first day back.

I coloured my girl in with Pro-Markers and I teamed her with some fab Cosmo Cricket paper called The Boyfriend, as the prints on them were just perfect for this challenge. Added a bit of twine wrapped round the card and a few WOC flowers to pretty it up a bit.

Promarkers used

Skin - Burnt Orange, Coral, Dusky Pink, Blush
Hair - Raw Sienna, Gold, Mustard
Top - Burnt Orange, Spice, Peach
Skirt/Shoes - Cool Grey 5, 4, 3 & 1
Socks - Gold, Mustard, Buttercup

* Bargin for you, my local Hobbycraft are doing their Promarkers at £1.56 each at the moment and when you get to the till there is another 25% off them. So if you need to stock up it may well be worth looking in your local store - I went the weekend and ended up coming out with fair few - well for that price it was rude not too!!.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, I love reading your comments on my cards and truely appreciate you stopping by even if you don't leave a comment.

Floral Anniversary

Hi all,

I have something of a completely different style for me to show you today, over the last few weeks I have been spending a lot of time on/completely addicted to lol!! yes you guessed it ------ Pintrest. I have been really inspired by the cards there that don't have images on them and use lots of embossing folders and very sort of stampin up style types.

So Sat night when hubby decided to tell me he needed an anniversary card for Sunday morning, which meant it needed to be something quick & simple. I had seen a lovely card on Pintrest and I decided to use it for my inspiration/ well totally cased it really!!. You can find the original card HERE, and here is the one I made.

Now I have to admit mine doesn't look half as good as the original, obviously my supplies were a bit different but when I realised I had the same papers I couldn't help but copy that bit exactly. I also don't know if the original was bigger than mine as I couldn't fit the flowers along the ribbon as there wasn't enough space. So I popped a couple in the corner, which I think look a bit c**p now - never mind.

I definately enjoyed doing it and it was a lot quicker than having to colour an image in and perfect for someone who is not into cute (my normal style) so I think I will be trying some more out. Although probably be doing a lot of casing until I sort of find my own style within that style lol!!

Thanks for popping by my blog today, hope to be back tomorrow with some new samples. I have had a parcel delivered full of gorgeous Trimcraft Christmas goodies to play with.

Promarker Colour Chart

Hi all,

Not a card from me today, but something I hope some of you will find helpful. My ladies in my card classes have been bugging/nagging lol!!! me to do them a list of Promarker colours I that use when colouring my images. So I have spent the last few weeks writing down a few colour combinations that I tend to use a lot and having a play at creating new ones with some of my pens that don't get used too often.

What I have done is created a little chart, where I have listed the colours used (from dark to light) and then added a space above so that I can do a little blend of the colours. I can then see at a glance which combination of colours I want to use, I have also tried to keep each colour group together too.

I thought it would be helpful to pop the uncoloured chart on here, so that if you wanted you can print off a copy on whatever card you personally use and do your own little 'at a glance chart'.

Now I don't have loads and loads of colours, so you will see some colours repeated a few times but I have used them in combination with different colours to give a different overall look to the blended finish.

I would also just like to point out that these colours are just ones that I like to use and that I have found work together for me (and has been done with what pens I have in my collection), some you may like and some you may not agree on. Also if you have any colour combos that work for you that I haven't got I would love you to let me know so that I can try them out.

Anyway here is the chart, it takes 3 sheets of A4 paper to print, and there are a few spaces for new tryouts lol!! They are JPeg files so you should be able to just save and print them.

I would love to know what you think and if its been helpful to you, also as I said if you have any different colour combinations to the ones I have listed I would love to add them to my list.

Thanks for popping by my blog today

Christmas kisses

Hi all,

Well better late than never, but here I am with my samples of one of the new Christmas release stamps from Little Claire. I have used the fabulously cute Merry Kissmas (kissing doggies), don't they look so adorable having a sneeky kiss under the mistletoe.

I don't know whats happened to me just lately but I cant seem to get organized at all, I have had these images coloured up ready for ages (way before the release date) and just couldn't seem to get them made into a card. I think it could be something to do with that thing called "6 weeks holidays", Roll on a week on Wed lol!!!

Anyway at last here are my cards.

I teamed the image with some fab papers from last years Papermania Collection, a few WOC flowers and some white satin ribbon (I coloured the ribbon on my top card with my Promarker to match). a few snowflakes & pearls to finish.

I did try to make the fur on the dogs look a bit more real by dotting the colour on instead on just colouring, not sure it worked out how I wanted it but it does look like they have a bit of texture.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please pop back tomorrow to see my DT card for Totally Gorjuss.

Vintage Butterflies - DT for Totally Gorjuss

Hi all,

Time for a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week our theme is

Strings the Thing

We are sponsered by the fabulous

So with this weeks theme I just new I wanted to make a tag and after getting lots of lovely inspiration from Pinterest I came up with this.

I started with a piece of A4 white card 250gsm and cut a tag shape 12cm x 8cm. I then stamped all over with a script stamp and distressed using Antique Linen & Tea Dye. I punched a hole in the top, created an enforcing circle using 2 punches & Kraft cardstock and tied with string.  Next I took a small circular doilie again distressed with Tea Dye chopped in half and stuck to the LH side. A strip of lace was stapled to the bottom and a die cut MD swirl added to the RH side. The butterflies were stamped, coloured using distress inks and cut out and added to the tag with silicone. The flower was created by die cutting 3 different size flowers from the Blossom Nestie from normal copier paper, distressed with Tea Dye, spritzed with water and scunched up before being put togther with a brad. Finally 3 pearl gems were added to the bottom RH corner and I spritzed the whole thing with Glimmer Mist.

I hope you like my creation, I really enjoyed making it and trying something different. Please do pop on over to the Challenge Blog and check out my team mates creations.

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Unto us a child is born

Hi all,

Day 4 of the new Christmas stamps release from Little Claire and today we have another double release for you.

First up is Away in a Manager, very similar to the Polar Hugs stamp, so not a lot of colouring needed so perfect for making those large qty's of cards.

This card I have used a Die Cut Easel Card available from little Claire and have kept my design quite simple. the papers are Dovecraft Christmas collection, finished off with another of those fabby white flowers and satin ribbon.

Again another simple card using the Dovecraft Christmas papers, the star behind the image has been made using a folding technique which I found HERE

--------------------------------------------------------------

The second release for today is called Robin Redbreast, this is another one of my faves from the release and although looks quite detailed was lovely to colour and work with.

The papers on both of the cards are from papermania and are a couple of years old, but such lovely muted colours. A few punched snowflakes, ribbon and white christmas flowers finish them off perfectly.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please pop by the Little Claire Blog and see what my team mates have created using these stamps. Tomorrow I have the last of the release for you and trust me its a cutie.

Double Whammy

Hi all,

I have a rather long picture heavy post for you today, its the second day of the release of the new Little Claire Christmas stamps and we have decided to show you not one but two stamps today!!.

So first up is Christmas Silhouette, a very traditional image and as its a silhouette it means no colouring at all!!!. Now I have to admit I was a bit stumped when I first saw this stamp, but once I got going I couldn't stop.

So for the first sample, I took a wooden frame I picked up from the £1 shop covered it with white acrylic paint, sanded it down and added some gorgeous dotty organza ribbon and Kraft flower. The image was also stamped on Kraft card to give it a more vintage feel, the Poinsettia Die is a Marianne Design. The little sentiment comes with the image.

For the second sample, I stamped the image onto tissue paper which I then burnished onto a candle and added punched borders and ribbon for decoration.

Finally I made a little faux tealight holder, again make a Kraft Poinsettia flower and added a punched border and dotty organza ribbon for decoration

All three items together, they make a fabby little gift set don't you think?.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The second release for today is called Christmas Joy, this stamp has a bit of a folksy feel to it. Now I have to admit I love this stamp and really enjoyed colouring it and making samples with this.

The papers on this card are last years papermania Noel range and I think they just looked fab teamed with the red cardstock. The flower is from a large bag of mixed white flowers from QVC shop (thanks Jan) and some gorgeous dotty organza ribbon (thanks Hazel) to finish.

The papers on this card are from the Papermana Mistletoe Kisses range and again I teamed them with some fab red cardstock. The Die Cut is a Marianne Design and the ribbon was a gift as above.

Well I hope you made it to the end of the post, please pop back tomorrow to see another release, and dont forget to pop over to the Little Claire Blog and see what my team mates have been up to using these stamps.

------------------------------------------------------------

On top of the world

* I am demoing at Hobbycraft, Bentley Bridge, Wednesfield this Sat 11/8 from 11am - 3pm I would love to see anyone who lives in the area and follows my blog *

Hi all,

Today sees the start of the release of some new Christmas images from Little Claire, us girls have been working very hard on the samples throughout July and I tell you it did feel a bit weird making Christmas cards before I went on my hols. I don't normally start mine until late October lol!!

So to start us off we have Polar Hugs, such a cute little stamp and very easy to colour - in fact hardly needs any colouring at all, would be great for batch making.

I teamed the stamp with some papers from last years Dovecraft Christmas collection, a bit of satin ribbon and a few pearls. The Die Cut on the first card is a Marianne Design and flower on the bottom card is made from a large bag of mixed white flowers from the QVC shop (thanks Jan) and a Dovecraft 3" Holly punch. Both card blanks are available from the Little Claire Store.

Thanks for popping by my blog today, please pop back tomorrow to see another new release and if you like pop on over to the Little Claire Blog to see what my team mates have done with this stamp.
